Blu Apple Review and Giveaway!!

I work long ten hour days, three to four days a week. So I take these giant salads to work with me so that I can have something all day long. My weeks are kind of odd because me and D2 get paid in the same week, so we shop twice in one week, which makes keeping veggies and fruits good for longer than three or four days is rough. I can not stand brown lettuce. ICK!!! I partnered with blu apple in a review to help save my fruits and veggies!!
Some quick science behind blu apple.
Ethylene Gas is given off by all living plants, especially when it comes to Fruits, Veggies and Flowers. The release of this gas is thought to cause the ripening process. When you store these fruits and veggies in the fridge it speeds up the ripening process even quicker. Which sucks, because your fruits and veggies are not cheap.
Blu Apple helps absorb and neutralize that ethylene gas in turn making your fruits and veggies last two to three times longer! Each Apple contains a packet of NON TOXIC pellets, each packet lasts three months, and after three months you can actually open up the packet of pellets and use them for fertilizer in houseplants or your garden!!
Blu apple also creates another product called veggie zips, food storage bags used to control humidity for perfect types of fruits and veggies!! VeggieZips are vented with the patent-pending U-Vent technology, which allows fresh air in and helps the ethylene gas escape through the small flaps that cover the bag. Each bag comes with a HydroLiner, which is a soft, cloth-like towel that can be used wet, dry, or not at all depending on the needs of the produce. When storing produce that needs additional moisture to stay fresh, like lettuce, cilantro, or green onions, dampen the HydroLiner, gently wrap the HydroLiner around the produce, place in the VeggieZips bag, store in the refrigerator, and re-dampen the HydroLiner as necessary. If you are storing produce that needs excess moisture absorbed, like mushrooms, berries, and cauliflower, wrap the produce in a dry HydroLiner, place in the VeggieZips bag, and store in the refrigerator. There are some produce types that do not need excess moisture added or absorbed, like peppers, eggplant, and nectarines. With these, just place the produce inside a VeggieZips bag without a HydroLiner and store in your refrigerator

As you can see the apple itself is not very big so it does not take up to much space. So I stuck this apple in my fridge almost two weeks ago. Let me tell you this little apple is going to save me a ton of money! that head of lettuce there was an extra one I had purchased as my experiment.....Below you can see it is still beautifully green, I checked it over not one single brown Spot! Thank you blu apple!!

Blu Apple was kind enough to sponsor a giveaway as well! Three (Yes I said Three ) Lucky winners will receive a two pack of blue apple and a box of veggie zips and liners!!

So lets get to it then!!

  6. What a great idea, I will need to look into one of these. I'm fortunate in that my kids love fruit and vegies but they often go out of date before we can use them.
